Learn to fly with Exploration Air Paragliding. We have a deep understanding of free flight and a proven track record working with people from all over the country who choose Utah as a premier destination for paragliding progression. We fly all year long.

We teach total beginners from the ground up or also offer crossover courses for those with some air-sports backgrounds. If you have some paragliding experience but need formal training then you are in the right place. We also offer advanced ratings for those looking to step up.

Session rate @$195 or full course @$2600(USHPA P2).

DETAILS: Gear provided for the first 6 sessions then we will help guide you to purchase your own equipment through exploration air paragliding(new or used we have all options)

Certified USHPA instructor on radio for all flights.

We offer training primarily at the point of the mountain flight park. (With occasional opportunities of hike and fly adventure for those showing they are ready for that setting)

sessions take place 4 days a week in around 3 hour learning blocks.  We will either fly mornings or evenings. Come as you like but we recommend at least 2 days a week to stay current and build skills that will be valuable for your free flight career and ultimately P2 license(License to fly solo without an instructor) For those on a more compressed schedule such as visiting from out of state we our able to also accommodate an accelerated program.

Gear is provided to start training but we do require you get your own gear through us (New or used) after completing 50% of the course. 

We also will be providing an in person ground school covering basics, emergency procedures & weather modules

USHPA minimum requirements before P2 sign off as follows 

Core P2 Requirements & Skills:(At a glance)

  • Flights: A minimum of 35 flights, usually over at least 7 flying days.
  • Knowledge: Pass the USHPA Beginner written exam.
  • Skills Assessment:
    • Preflight: Demonstrate preflight checks of the harness, glider, and reserve parachute.
    • Launch: Demonstrate confident, aggressive launches with smooth transitions to flight.
    • Flight Control: Demonstrate 360-degree turns and controlled speed management.
    • Landing: Perform at least 5 successful landings within 25 feet of a target (spot landing).
  • Logbook: Must maintain a signed logbook confirming all flights. 

Typical P2 Operating Limitations:

  • Maximum base wind speed of 12 MPH.
  • Maximum peak gusts to 15 MPH.
  • Foot launch only on slopes steeper than 4:1.
  • Avoid flying in high-risk, turbulent, or strongly thermal conditions.
